Waiting pushes people to investigate especially if they are waiting for a visitor. They become more curious to know the reason why they are late or the reason of their visit, or the way they will enter their lives. It's the same with happy and hopeful families who are waiting for a new baby. Parents spend their time thinking of an appropriate name for the baby. Moreover, they begin to guess the gender of the baby specially moms who become more curious to guess if the baby is a boy or a girl so they start predicting through many ways like:
First, what does a woman crave for!! If she craves sweat tastes then she's pregnant with a baby girl but if she craves for salty or sour tastes like pickle or lemon then she's pregnant with a baby boy.
Second, if the mother had good appetite and gained some weight and her face brightens then she's holding a baby girl. But if she lost her appetite and her face became pale then she's holding a baby boy.
Third, the outer look of a pregnant woman, if her breast becomes bigger and her belly goes up and had apparent back then she's pregnant with a girl. But in case her breast becomes shrinks and her belly looks down and her back becomes smaller then she's pregnant with a boy.
What made all these exaggerations spread wide?
The reason is that in the past science wasn't developed as today, so people used to predict about the embryo's gender. People used to watch and distinguish between pregnant women who are in the same month of pregnancy. Their predictions were close to be true and it happened to be true in many cases but that was when there was no sophisticated and improved machines like now.
We can also add the old known traditions that pregnant women used to face because it is commonly known that boys are better than girls. A mother for boys differs from a mother for girls and from that point of view people tried to use these signs to comfort and prepare mothers in case she was pregnant with a baby girl.
Finally, people can't predict the embryo's gender by these fade signs and exaggerations without returning to the realistic, physical and scientific facts. Everything was created for a purpose and with certain standards that we can't ignore. Every womb holds different embryos that differ in the outer look and characteristics. Some women crave for particular kinds of food in one pregnancy and doesn't in their other pregnancies.
